Lava celebrated its first birthday on 2nd October and Director Matt Hammerton, believes the agency is firmly on course to realise its ambition of becoming the East Midlands’ leading PR and marketing consultancy.
“We’ve had a fantastic first year and are now working with some of the leading companies in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. I've always believed that if people had access to a Lincoln consultancy that offered leading agency thinking and systems, an unparalleled commitment to delivering creative, results driven campaigns and sensible pricing they would use it. I've been proved right,” said Matt. “With turnover double what we predicted for this stage of Lava’s development, we’re extremely confident of achieving our goal of becoming one of the top 150 PR consultancies in the UK within the next five years.”
Matt established Lava following 3 ½ years as Director of Communications at the Lincs FM Group but before his spell in radio, he spent over a decade working for some of the UK’s leading PR firms in Manchester, Leeds and Nottingham.
In August, Lava became the first business to start working from Lincoln’s new centre for creative industries, The Terrace; and recruited experienced freelance journalist and PR consultant, Wendy Peckham. A third account handler is set to join the team shortly.
“People say the first year in business is the hardest, so to have achieved what we have done is extremely pleasing,” says Matt. “But that’s history now and we’re looking concentrating on making Lava’s second year even more successful than its first.”
Lava's clients, journalists and suppliers were able to join in the celebrations too, as the consultancy sent them all a specially baked chocolate Lava cake.
