Lava PR, one of the East Midlands fastest growing PR consultancies, has recruited Catrina Laskey as trainee account executive through the success of their Conduit scheme.
Lava launched Conduit in September in association with the University of Lincoln’s BA (Hons) Public Relations degree course, to give an undergraduate student relevant work experience during the academic year and the opportunity to work towards a full-time position upon graduation.
Matt Hammerton, Agency Director at Lava PR said: “We want to make sure that the best talent developed and tutored by the University stays in the county once they’ve graduated, which is one of the reasons we launched Conduit. We want to show graduates that you don’t have to work in the capital to work for a great PR agency and with the appointment of Catrina and the constant growth of our agency, we aim to put Lincoln and the East Midlands on the map as a centre of innovative, creative and effective PR.”
Catrina (20), who is a final year PR and Marketing student at the University said: “I am so pleased to be given this great opportunity. I feel it will enable me to progress to the level needed to become successful in this very tough industry.
“It will allow me to apply the skills I have learnt at University to a practical environment and will give me a great insight into how PR actually operates in the real world.
“Lava PR is such a fast moving and successful consultancy and I am delighted to become part of the team.”
Catrina will assist the members of the team and work on Lava’s wide range of clients including East Midlands Development Agency (emda), RICO Mexican Kitchen and Branston.
