Lincoln City Centre will feature an ice rink again this Christmas.

Lincoln Business Improvement Group announced today that it had signed a contact with an ice rink provider, Baseline Promotions, and that City Square would once again host the popular attraction.

The 130m2 rink, featuring real ice, will be open from Thursday 27th November to Sunday 4th January 2009.

“It is fantastic to be able to say we’ve secured an ice rink for Lincoln and that this incredibly popular attraction will be here over the festive period,” says Lincoln BIG Chief Executive, Matt Corrigan. “Lincoln City Centre will be a marvelous place to visit this Christmas with the Ice Rink adding to significant investment in new Christmas lights, late night shopping and the plans for the Christmas Market.

“We know that City Centre retailers are delighted that the ice rink is returning and we’re doing all we can to help them end the year on a high.”

Norwich company Baseline Promotions has been contracted to supply the ice rink.

Established in 1998, Baseline Promotions has a strong track record of providing ice rinks and other outdoor attractions. Last year the company supplied five ice rinks to towns and cities across the UK, including Exeter, Norwich and Warwick Castle through its Base Line on Ice division.

Prices, opening times and details of corporate sponsors for the rink are still to be decided.
