LOVE IS IN THE AIR SAY PASSIONATE GARDENERS

Posted in Mower Magic on February 12th, 2008

Passionate gardeners love nothing more than the smell of freshly cut grass, research released in the run up to Valentine’s Day has revealed.

The survey, conducted by online garden supermarket www.Mower-Magic.co.uk , asked gardeners what they enjoyed most about their gardens with some surprising results.

Top of the list came the smell of freshly cut grass followed by playing with the children and barbequing in second and third respectively.

The results indicate that people really enjoy both putting in the hard work to produce their outdoor space and also spending time relaxing and socialising in their garden.

Other practical and social activities which entered the top ten included planting, garden design and dining alfresco whilst similarly well represented were relaxing pastimes such as reading and sunbathing.

One thing that all of the results had in common was a close connection to summer, when people can take advantage of the fruits of their labour and enjoy an outside space that is completely their own.

Jez Hall at www.Mower-Magic.co.uk says the poll proves people are incredibly garden-proud: “We all know people who are house proud, maybe this flows into the garden with people mentioning both weeding and the smell of freshly cut grass as the things they love most about their gardens. If the weather holds perhaps people can reclaim their gardens in time for Valentine’s Day. Where better to say how much you care for that special someone than in the place you love the most.”
