New Care Home for The Orders of St John Care Trust

Posted in OSJCT on June 14th, 2010

The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) has added another care home to its family in Oxfordshire.

Old Station House in Abingdon is a modern home with rooms arranged on three floors and takes the total number of care homes in the region managed by the Trust to 18.

The 43-bed care home in the centre of the town provides en suite accommodation for residents who require extra help and support with daily living tasks. It was previously owned and operated by Servite Houses, a fellow member of the National Care Forum.

Carol Flynn, Manager at Old Station House said: “I am delighted to continue working at Old Station House and managing such a great care home. The home has excellent links with the local community, local GPs and health care services. We also offer activities and personal services at the home, such as hairdressing, chiropody, gardening and art and craft as well as musical movement and we will be introducing reminiscence sessions for residents to take part in.”

Dan Hayes, County Director for OSJCT said: “We feel privileged to take over such a well run home which already has a good reputation in Abingdon.  We are hoping to build on this good standing and bring the experience and understanding of OSJCT to this home. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of the residents, relatives and staff of Old Station House, into OSJCT.”

For more information about the home please contact Carol Flynn on 01235 536226.
