STORMSAVER ADDS ENVIRONMENTAL BEST PRACTISE TO LISTED BUILDING

Posted in Stormsaver on November 11th, 2008

Stormsaver, the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of rainwater harvesting systems, has been contracted to provide a 60,000L heavy duty system to a Grade II listed building in the centre of Derby.

The regeneration of the Roundhouse, a 19th century railway facility which will become Derby College’s flagship site, is being partially funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the East Midlands Development Agency (emda), the Learning & Skills Council and the Derby & Derbyshire Economic Partnership, as well as other affiliate organisations.

Over 2,400mm of rainwater will be collected by the system each year which will be used to flush the building’s WCs and urinals, saving the college an estimated £4,742 on its annual water bill, a payback on system costs of just four and a half years.

Stormsaver is experienced in dealing with sensitive builds, having provided rainwater harvesting systems to prestigious developments, such as the Dalby Forest Visitor’s Centre, which won the Prime Minister’s Better Public Buildings Award and a listed domestic property near Regent’s Park.
