STORMSAVER RAISES ALMOST £13,000 FOR CHARITY

Posted in Stormsaver on June 11th, 2009

Stormsaver’s support for WaterAid has leapt to almost £13,000 following a sponsored skydive with the world-famous Red Devils.

Michael Farnsworth, Managing Director of Stormsaver, the UK’s leading supplier of rainwater harvesting systems, along with six members of his team, spent yesterday doing a tandem skydive with the British Army’s parachute team at Langar airfield, near Nottingham, in order to raise money to help support the charity’s work within developing countries.

Michael commented, “As we are in the water industry, Water Aid is the perfect charity for us to support. Their key objective is to allow safe water and sanitation for all, and that is something that we strongly believe in. We have been working with the charity for the past two years and have previously donated £10,000. This skydive has enabled us to reach a new total of £12,600 for Water Aid, allowing us to demonstrate our commitment and passion in supporting ‘safe water for all’.

“We thought that a skydive with the Red Devils would be the ideal fundraising task, as well as being an exciting and motivational experience for our staff. We’re delighted with the amount of money that we have managed to raise so far. I am incredibly proud of the way the team has embraced this challenge and has actively gone out to get sponsorship and support.”

Debbie Parr (31) of Newark, Stormsaver’s after-sales project manager took part in the skydive. “It was the most amazing experience of my life!” said Debbie. “I am one of those people that craves adventure, so skydiving was something that I had always wanted to do. I have managed to raise over £580 for Water Aid, thanks to the support and generosity of my friends and family.”

Jackie Willems, Water Aid’s representative said, “The money that Stormsaver has raised will make a huge difference to Water Aid’s valuable work in many countries of the world. Our mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.  We are delighted that Stormsaver has raised so much money to help support our vision of ‘safe water and sanitation for all’”.
